We are soliciting speaker nominations from students at CSU. The Colloquium in the Life Sciences is passionate about being free and open to all. We appreciate your participation, whether you are a graduate student in Natural Resources or an undregraduate in Biomedical Sciences. So nominate a speaker today and join the conversation.
The Colloquium is always on the lookout for dynamic speakers, scientists, teachers, philosophers, researchers, journalists, authors and policymakers from all areas of life science. Each student can nominate up to two speakers per year. Due to budgeting constraints we usually only accept speakers from the United States, but other North American speakers can be considered. Talk to us and we’ll try our best to make it happen.
All you need to do to nominate a speaker is:
Send an email to The Colloquium [colloq@lamar.colostate.edu] with:
- your contact details
- name
- departmental affiliation
- phone muber
- email address
- the speaker’s contact details
- name
- insitutional affiliation
- phone number
- email address
- postal address
- a little bit about why your speaker should come to CSU, such as their area of research or scientific interests
Nothing could be simpler!
Several students have asked whether they should contact the speakers before nominating them. You are are welcome to get in touch with the speakers to tell them what you are planning. However, there is no real need for prior contact. The President of The Colloquium will send a formal invitation to each nominated speaker. This invitation allows the speakers to accept or decline the nomination and suggest dates that suit their schedule. The President will then coordinate the schedules of all speakers so that each is invited for a suitable date. Therefore, if you do contact a speaker, do not bother to narrow down dates. We will be working closely with you in order to make arranngements for the speaker’s visit.
